Why The Collective?
“I had the pleasure of coaching with Michael for two years while auditioning for college theatre programs. I can honestly say Michael is one of the exceptional acting coaches I’ve ever worked with. His teaching style is the perfect mix of engaging and challenging, thus encouraging me to take risks and reach new heights I never imagined possible as a young high school actor. To put it simply, Michael believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. He is kind, generous, and selfless with his students- utilizing his professional skills as a Broadway actor to lift the next generation of artists. I feel lucky to know and have worked with someone as special as Michael.”
Jenna Giordano, Boston University BFA Acting
When I was auditioning for Musical Theatre schools, Michael was so patient and encouraging; he was always willing to rehearse a song over and over again until it was just right. He stuck by my side in the most nerve-wracking moments and enthusiastically celebrated my successes. Work with Michael!!!
Isabel Stein, University of Michigan Musical Theater
Michael has worked with my musical theater students at The Kings College on three occasions now, and he has become a perennial favorite. He creates an atmosphere in which all of my students feel safe and encouraged to take risks. He uses creative means to help them get to the heart of their motivation and make more authentic and powerful acting choices. I love bringing him into my classroom because my students are always inspired and empowered by working with him, and the result is always increased growth as performing artists.
Virginia Pike, The Kings College NYC
We Believe
There are no right or wrong choices in acting, there is no type, or formula for success - there is YOU; your opinions, your instincts, and your impulses. That is what is so rewarding and challenging about acting and relating to art.
Some of the most fulfilling moments of Michael’s life have been the ability to express himself through text. And on the opposite end, studying acting has made me a better listener and more empathetic human in everyday life.
The reward of acting is not only the product, but the whole process along the way.
